Game, Set and Match – Kaarunya ras

Karunya

He walked with pride through the streets as the villagers gathered and walked with him to his house.

The uniform fitted best, the medals shone, his handsome iron face gleamed with dignity and triumph.

India’s young 19 year old soldier walked with same measured gait albeit this time on his comrade’s shoulder. War was won.

Shashank’s Raudra was fierce….didn’t know he could fill in so much power in just 55 words. And I picked his brain on it, up came the reply knowledge implies anΒ application to it thus I tried to write my 55 words on Karunya. Well I haven’t seen a more powerful fiction writer be it FSF or 55 words. So am waiting what he brings for us on Compassion/Tragedy.

  1. One word- Powerful Ananya. Bravery, loss, hurt, compassion, and the fight has been so well captured. Each word carries so much weight. I can hardly imagine a 55 Fiction bringing such a vivid imagination to life yet you’ve done it so effortlessly. The last line powerfully and perfectly done. Hats off and well, for you a gentlemen’s bow for this piece πŸ™‚ Loved it j

    1. I will require that bow in person would love to see a tall man bow, strong emotions…of course…each emotion is strong within me and so on paper too πŸ™‚ thanks for supporting me so much j πŸ™‚

  2. Another beautiful story! Reminds me of a power packed upper cut! πŸ˜€ It sneaks up stealthily and then rattles the teeth. Your stories begin innocuous enough and then it hits hard!

    Awaiting the next!

  3. Its a task to bring something great out in a few words and you captured the emotions and a storyline perfectly in these 55 words.. kudos!

  4. This is, as I told you earlier, such a powerful post that brings out the best of a short fiction. The power of words. The emotion brought out so well Ananya and you made every word count. This one goes to the top lists of your posts for me πŸ™‚ I see a more powerful fiction writer right here πŸ™‚ You always amaze me, everytime! Waiting for more πŸ™‚

  5. It IS the best of short fiction .. Powerful, emotionally as well as technically as you make words so powerful to present so much with so less of them ! ‘Kaarunya’ ke saath saath ‘garv’ bhi present kar rahe the tumhare shabd πŸ™‚
