“Stop there! One of the earrings is missing, you have it I know.” said the sales girl to Ravi who had come to buy his wife an anniversary gift.

“No I haven’t taken it, trust me. I left all pieces there as they are beyond my budget.” trembling with a nervous tone he responded.

“More the reason you flicked it, there is no one here and you pocketed it while I was trying the other pieces to show you, give it back or we call the police” a crowd gathered all staring Ravi as the manager grabbed his arm.

“Please do not call the cops, I haven’t stolen it but will pay for the loss.” A teary eyed Ravi responded as the sales girl.

She felt extremely guilty of wrong accusation as tried to get the phone from her shirt pocket and felt the emerald earring that may have slipped when she was trying it on to show it to Ravi.

“I never respected you, gave you the love you deserved, I spoiled your life” he said feeling guilty as she stood holding a glass of milk near his paralyzed body.

He a man of 45 married her at the age of 14 and since then she had been a very obedient wife who was very silent and listened much.

For the first time the palace heard her sing as she watered her favorite Hemlock plant.

She would sit by the poisonous plant patiently for days observing every shoot grow as she planned her life.

Her silence was the beginning of her revenge and a slow death for him.

  1. Shweta…..I loved the second one…its moving and moving very fast with such a painful climex!!
Dropping first time from a-to-z challenge!!

    1. its just that the earring had slipped into her pocket when she was trying it and since she was not aware and it went missing so she was accusing Ravi, thank you for liking the second one Aroraji 🙂

  2. The girl should have admitted the truth in the first story once she realized it. Loved the second story too. Powerful twists in both 🙂

    1. Thank you Amrit, on second thoughts I could have made her admit in my fiction but may be would have simplified the plot then 🙂 Happy you found them powerful and liked them 🙂

    1. Awww, may be she did confess 🙂 on second thoughts since you felt bad for Ravi meaning the theme for EmoIntel is working 🙂 thank you so much 🙂

  3. Both are nice but being the twist crazies you have made us , I enjoyed the second one more . You have depicted Ravis’ plight so well with so few a words… My heart goes out for him .. hence emotionally its the first one 🙂
In the second I am not feeling much but, yes, that powerful twist was there- so I enjoyed it as an audience . 🙂
Am I wrong I f I am expecting a thrilling/chilling sequel to the second one when the challenge is over :p

    1. Anything for you babe, I too am itching to write a longer thriller fiction…come May it will surely be published 🙂
I myself was not too happy with the first one so I wrote the second. And you found something good in both wow, that’s awesome babe…super hugs 🙂

  4. Yes..both stories depict the emotions of guilt than grumpiness. First one, well Ravi made readers to feel for him. 2nd one is more powerful….Silent killer shows not only guilt (from one character) but Revenge (from other character) as well. Strong & effective piece of fiction.

  5. I wonder how many can associate with first story. I have witnessed it once, someone was wrongly accused of shop lifting. Second story, though revengeful, brings a strange kind of solace. I guess, it has an element of justice to it.

    1. hain na Saru…even I felt a sense of solace for her …i know it sounds wrong but still. the first story, I wasn’t sure of publishing but now am happy I did 🙂
