A-Z Challenge – I – Insecurity

Insecure

She stood in front of the mirror examining her stomach from left to right.

The cosmetic surgeon had done a fantastic job on the tummy tuck, she thought to herself.

It is impossible for anyone to look prettier, big banner movies and top assignments are just a step away.

The pride in her eyes changed with a closer look at her nose, dislocated, the plastic melting away.

Insecurity set in again, another cosmetic touch was on its way.

  3. It’s better to value what’s natural and God gifted… it’s your soul that reflects, not your physical attributes is what Mom taught me. :’) I have a very fatty face with chubby cheeks which does not compliment my lean body frame at all and so many people suggested me to opt for surgery like Kareena but I didn’t go with them and proud of what I have! Very poignantly expressed Shweta..glad you came up with something on this issue! 🙂

  4. A great write up on the emotion called “insecurity”. Very impactful writing, Shweta. Loved it 🙂
I believe that insecurity stems from not being able to love and accept oneself. No wonder why the spiritual gurus say that self-love is the best form of love as we love and embrace ourself totally…which further helps us to love others unconditionally.

    1. So agree Purba, I see insecurity as a race to be the best and not being content with what we have and in order to reach there the journey involves damage and deceit. Its vicious 🙁

  5. Insecurity will always be a part of a woman’s life.. no matter what.. And you’ve described a typical insecure female.. Even I get insecured at times but I’ve never thought to that extent though 😀 Nice one! 🙂

    1. It is so honest of you to accept it, all of us have flaws, like I am possessive and it naturally comes to me with my loved ones till the time we know how to tame them all is good 🙂
