Disgust – 55 word fiction

Disgust

He stood unashamed holding her hand, a man Ananya most loved and a woman she trusted.

Her past 10 years came crumbling down as he just pulled a card from her house of cards.

Heart filled with distrust, deceit and disgust gave her the strength to pick the pen and sign her way to freedom.

Bībhatsam (बीभत्सं) Disgust, Aversion is a very strong emotion. It takes something huge for an individual to be pushed to a point of disgust.

Shashank wrote a very heart melting take on Kaarunya. As I always say he is one of the few fictional writers who can evoke a treasure of emotions with his pen (hope you make up for this one j). I have high hopes on Bibhastam as well.

Game, Set and Match – Kaarunya ras

Karunya

He walked with pride through the streets as the villagers gathered and walked with him to his house.

The uniform fitted best, the medals shone, his handsome iron face gleamed with dignity and triumph.

India’s young 19 year old soldier walked with same measured gait albeit this time on his comrade’s shoulder. War was won.

Shashank’s Raudra was fierce….didn’t know he could fill in so much power in just 55 words. And I picked his brain on it, up came the reply knowledge implies an application to it thus I tried to write my 55 words on Karunya. Well I haven’t seen a more powerful fiction writer be it FSF or 55 words. So am waiting what he brings for us on Compassion/Tragedy.

Raudra/ Furious – Navras 3 – FSF

Raudra-Rasa

“Show some more anger, the fury, make it look real” shouted Arvind Kohli, directing the sequel of the epic war movie – AAryavarta.

Suryaveer ran with all passion towards Asooresh to jump, the rope would lift him 7 feet high and drop him to pierce the dagger in his heart.

As the rope lifted the dagger again fell of his hands, Kohli shouting, “cutttt….., do you realize it’s the climax scene…hold the dagger tight and hit it hard.”

Suryaveer, the narcissist short tempered superstar, was exhausted with heavy makeup costume and upset at Kohli for giving him a light fake dagger, he replaced it with a heavy real one that was brought from Udaipur museum to show to actors.

Take 53 – Suryaveer ran furiously,  jumped as the rope pulled him and lowered quicker than usual as he hit the dagger deep in Asooresh’s chest who instantly fell on his back – “Superb shot!” Kohli sounded elated as Suryaveer stared at his faux pas.

“Ananya, you got to write the next post.” he reminded the 15th time as patiently as first.

“I will post it Shashank, you know I have to do so much work, practice guitar, read….” I tried giving fake excuses.

He smiled…that was enough to write the post as soon as I could.

The Raudra Rasa is disagreeable, destructive rasa, while it has its use in communication. This energy of anger expresses itself from mild irritation up to real fury.

When expectations are not fulfilled, the ego may feel neglected or treated incorrectly, this forms the basis of anger.

The Missing Babloo – Hasya Rasa

Hasya ras

The Missing Babloo

The driver honked several times with the stipulated time for stopover at the highway closed as all other passengers hopped in the bus while Ananya stuffed the last eateries in her bag and ran waving at the driver gesturing “don’t you leave without me!”

Pushing and nudging people she reached her seat in the second last row accidently stepping on the foot of a fellow passenger making her way to the window seat, the overweight woman grumpily looking at her expecting an apology.

In the next moment “My babloo is missing!” she got up immediately, “oh I left him here….hey stop the damn bus.” She again hopped out of her seat stepping on the lady again, searching madly peeping on other passengers and seats.

Many others joined her shouting Babloo…are you there, many peeped out of the window to find him, Ananya worried, “where did I leave him, at the restaurant may be, I love him…Babloo!” the passengers asking questions started pacifying her.

Just then she looked at the cabinet on the roof above the seats and happily shouted, “Here he is!” passengers astonishingly and angrily looked on as she pulled her guitar and hugged it tight; “Is that Babloo?” she was just short of being bashed.

Shashank portrayed Shringar beautifully, I was floored reading his master stroke, the second rasa is Hasya as in Humor, leave you hoping to spread smiles 🙂

Beauty / Shringar – Navras 1 – Five Sentence Fiction

Shringar

Shringar

The king walked into the maze which decided only the one that found the way out would go to heaven and rest?

After several turns he stood there mesmerised by her beauty, she looked like a goddess in the saffron green silk attire with ornaments of gold and precious gems covering her well defined curves.

Her face radiant, eyes big enhanced with kohl, fragrant flowers around her hair and her tantalizing smile luring him further, he confirmed to make it to the goal and a sense of triumph to reach heaven won his heart.

“She is mine!” his confidence and pride took over as he tried to wrap her in his arms, she laughed loud as he turned to ashes, another victim gave in to lust and attachment.

Her smile faded as she transformed into one with long protruding teeth, a huge body and burnt hair, the curse would end for the goddess only when a king would not give in to her beauty – Shringar for others was meant to enhance beauty for her was a curse.

After our successful and pleasurable journey through A-Z April Challenge, Shashank (embarkwithmythoughts) and I are delighted to bring to you nine beautiful emotions that make the Nav Ras. A rasa (Sanskrit: रस lit. ‘juice’ or ‘essence’) denotes an essential mental state and is the dominant emotional theme of a work of art or the primary feeling that is evoked in the person that views, reads or hears such a work.

The Natyasastra identifies nav rasas with eight corresponding Bhava (mood) and this month we will try to win your hearts with our five sentence fictions on each bhava. Hope you enjoy it!

Today’s emotion – Shringar (शृङ्गारं) Dressing up, Love, Attractiveness. Presiding deity: Vishnu. Colour: Green.

Take Me Now! – Wild Seduction

couples-boudoir-photography

Rohan rang the doorbell twice with no answer. He stood there shifting his weight from one foot to another for five minutes thinking of the heated argument over a silly issue he had with Ananya in the morning. He placed his heavy laptop bag down and got the key to open the door.

The dark teak wood door opened in a lavish living room, a gush of cool but humid breeze brushed his face. The wind chime danced to the tune of the zephyr as it made its way through the full length sliding window. The room was dark, lights off and aromatic lavender candle burnt in a remote corner.

He walked to the window and stood there watching the dark clouds over distance sea from his 24th floor penthouse.  A light sound of an anklet tingling caught his attention to the single couch on another corner. He turned.

In the dim candle light her smooth skin radiated to the contrast of the black satin gown, the faint figure in the dwindling light appeared her to be sprawling seductively across the couch. His eyes moved from her inviting face to her voluptuous figure, the satin slip creasing exactly at the right curves. He moved forward with the sound of her anklets as she playfully moved her feet.

“What’s the plan?” he softly whispered lowering his face to hers.

“To apologize…to say sorry” smiling playfully she turned lying on her stomach.

Rohan dragged the pads of his fingers from the butt to the back of her thighs over to her calves and stopped the tingling of the anklets as he kissed her toes.

“Ah that tickles” she turns to sit facing him.

“So who’s saying sorry today?” he asks holding her close to his lips.

“You….” Ananya alluringly moves her tongue across his neck.

He unties her hair as she wraps the same scarf around his wrists. Rohan seems so beguiling his body warm and tasting sultry.

Holding his neck gently she climbs to sit across him and settles on his thighs. Passion unleashes when the lips greedily devour as Ananya starts to move. The craving deepens with Ananya’s every ride. Her palms settle on his masculine chest as she parts from his lips to move steadily to his broad shoulders.

Rohan unable to contain the temptation struggles to pull his hands off the scarf. In the next moment he embraces her encapsulating her under him to drop lightly on the floor his fingertips feeling her tattoo.

“Take me now!” she whispers biting his earlobe. The Victoria’s Secret thong with the satin slip are swung and thrown in a jiffy. Raw passion and endless love alternate as he fills her repeatedly with all the love he has. It lasts long before they consummate the light tiff with mutual affection as the drizzle from the falling rain lightly fall on them.

He seals the night with a gentle kiss repeating the question, “So, who’s saying sorry?”

“What sorry?” she sees him smile as the candle burns its end to the final flame.

A-Z Challenge – W – Wary

Nik Wallenda

“You see that rope?” the film director asked Nick as both looked up the sky scrapers to a rope that connected one building to the other on the 20th floor, “If you walk that rope without harness you on board my crew for the film.” He continued with a sheepish smile.

Nick was wary of the danger it involved but he thrived on thrill, “Yes, I’ll do it keep the contract ready.” He confidently said.

The rope was thick and heavy but it was too breezy, he picked a long metal pole in his hand to balance the weight and wind as he wiped a thin sheet of sweat from his brow.

A crowd gathered in the buildings on the ground as he delicately stepped on the rope balancing himself through the pole, the crowd went silent when he walked and wooed when he swayed, his body went cold in the last steps as he completed the challenge.

“What were you thinking while walking the rope.” asked one of the spectators, “No thought, I just saw a chair with stunt director written on it is all I saw, I never saw the rope or the challenge.” he responded.
